From a magical, twinkling path and cozy hot cocoa stations to exploring the beautifully decorated McCormick Mansion and roasting s’mores, it’s easy to see why Christmas at Cantigny is a must-visit during the holiday season. Getting Started at Cantigny

Parking is included with tickets so we just showed our digital tickets at the gate. Then they checked us in at the Visitor Center.

Visitor Center

The one-way, self-guided walk kicks off at the Visitor Center. Start by snapping a photo with the tree or warming up with cocoa (or a boozy drink!). And don’t forget to look down at the diorama – one of our favorite little details every time we visit.

Tip: Use the bathrooms here!

Photo ops

Once you step outside, you’re greeted with twinkling lights. Follow the path and you’ll find a few fun photo ops along the way. And don’t miss the giant lit-up tree – a must!

Walk along the path

Follow the trail and enjoy all the lights around you. I especially loved the arches and the Rose Garden.

Interactive Features

I loved that they have spots with interactive features!

Cocoa Cabins

Craving hot chocolate (boozy if you’d like) or ready to roast some s’mores? A few stops along the trail have stations (including a cool trailer!) serving up your drink of choice, s’mores, and even popcorn.

See McCormick House

The path also takes you through the McCormick House, beautifully decked out for the season. Don’t forget to join the mouse scavenger hunt – they even have a “Wicked” tree to spot. If you have the chance (and there’s availability), stop by the Noël Lounge for drinks and bites. The crab cakes are phenomenal!

Ice Skating

If you love ice skating, there’s a charming little rink waiting for you (weather permitting). Bring your own skates or rent a pair on-site. And if you need a break from the cold, warm up by the fire!

Bring a toy by December 5th and enjoy free parking until 3 p.m.
Hungry? Grab a bite at Le Jardin—the birria pizza is fantastic, and you can never go wrong with another round of hot cocoa (boozy optional!).
