2TootsTrain Whistle Grill

We decided to take the Lil man to a train themed restaurant to top off his train themed birthday weekend.

Nitty Gritty: There are two locations for 2 Toots. We went to the downtown Bartlett location conveniently located next to the Metra station. There is plenty of parking (both in front of the restaurant and back) and the restaurant prides itself on having all seating by the train tracks. Even though this was our first train themed restaurant, I have read plenty of reviews of other ones where they mention there is not enough room. Definitely no problem here. There are tons of seating!

The fun: We were here on a Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. The restaurant was basically ours and my son was immediately excited to see the train coming around the track. From the very beginning, he couldn’t stop talking/screaming. It was a riot! Our server was very friendly especially towards the birthday boy.

When we go to restaurants we always ask our server what they recommend. We did the same and she said that people order the burgers and shakes. So we went ahead and ordered a double stack burger, cheeseburger with cheese fries for the little one, chili for me. All of their burgers and hotdogs are from grass fed beef with no added hormones or preservatives. My husband is pickier than I when it comes to food and he said “This is how a burger should taste.” He also gobbled up my chili. For dessert, the hubs and I shared a chocolate shake which was very yummy.

Since it was my son’s birthday, they played a birthday song on the speakers and the train brought him the cupcake with a train whistle on top. He loved it!!

There is a horse named Champion who you can ride for 25 cents. (The rides are not long at all though.)

Bottom Line: My son had a blast and we will be sure to come visit again. Maybe even have a birthday party here.

Tip: Be sure to sign up for the kids club. On your kid’s birthday, you will be sent a postcard for a free meal and cupcake.

Stay tuned for more train-related activities around Chicagoland.
