Are you enjoying your summer adventures? You all know we love to get out and explore, but sometimes we need (or I need) a little downtime. In that case, we tend to read, do crafts, and play board games. How excited was I to learn that Goliath Games and Pressman Toys, the fine makers of one of my kids’ favorite games, Let’s Go Fishin’, has a few toys which are perfect for summer including Rocket Fishing Rod, Zoom Ball Hydro, and Shark Bite? Since it is #SharkWeek, I thought it was the perfect time to try out Shark Bite with the kids.

Highlights of Shark Bite:

  • Easy setup. My 8-year-old volunteered to put this bad boy together. Not too much setup was needed, we just needed to take it out of the box, add the stickers to the die and shark’s face, then snap the sea creatures inside the shark’s mouth and voila – all done! It took no more than 5 minutes and they were ready to play. Plus, parents will love that batteries were not needed.

  • Even youngsters can play. The recommended ages for play is 4 and up, but my 3-year-old daughter had no trouble listening to instructions and playing along. I believe younger kids that can follow directions will also be able to participate, though I’d recommend parent supervision. And if you’re wondering: No, the shark’s teeth are not sharp at all.

  • Easy to play. The instructions were easy to follow: Roll the dice, use a fishing pole to remove the number of fish from the shark’s mouth, but watch out — the shark may bite at any given moment! Whoever has the most fish after the shark closes its mouth wins. Easy peasy!

  • So much fun! Since you never know when the shark will bite everyone is on the edge of their seats trying to get the fish out as fast as they can. The kids all had a blast and played for an hour straight. It’s also not too “babyish” and kept my oldest son entertained. Not such an easy feat these days, let me tell ya.

Bottom Line:

The kids totally loved this game. They’ve now added to their favorite game collection and all three of them give Shark Bite two thumbs up.
