Getting Started at Safari Lake Geneva
Once you pass through the entrance, head to the gate and check in. Here, you can buy your feed $5/cup. One cup per person was enough.
The Safari Experience
Once you enter, the safari adventure begins! The first section is home to giraffes, camels, and zebras—but just a heads up, feeding isn’t allowed here.
After you pass this area, get ready to roll down your windows and let the fun begin! The animals are eager and will come right up to say hello. All you need to do is stick out your feed cup. You’ll see all kinds of exotic species you’ve probably never been this close to before, like addax, emus, common eland, and zebus.
And if you’re a fan of Highland cattle like I am, you’re in luck—they’ve got a few here that you can feed, and let me tell you… they’re absolutely adorable!
Get out and feed more animals
After your drive through the safari, be sure to park your car and stretch your legs—there’s a walk-through area with even more animals to meet! Here, you’ll get the chance to feed and interact with a variety of creatures up close.
Special encounters: Feed capybaras
For an extra memorable experience, don’t miss feeding the capybaras! My daughter is currently obsessed with them, and we had an absolute blast giving them treats. These two capybara sisters are beyond adorable! Plus, they share the enclosure with the playful squirrel monkeys—they are a hoot! Since you’re sitting right next to their tree, you’ll get a front-row seat to all the action!

Feed giraffes
Ever dreamed of feeding a giraffe? Here’s your chance! For just $5 per person, you can get up close and hand-feed lettuce to one of these gentle giants.
Tips to enjoy Safari Lake Geneva
- Reservations are required. If you have a specific date in mind, book it right away. They sell out constantly! Visit earlier in the day. That’s when more of the animals will be hungry and active.

- Participate in a one-on-one encounter. Enhance your zoo experience with special one-on-one encounters. You can feed a giraffe or goats or even go on a pony ride.
