We love our road trip stops but love it even more when we can eat and indulge in a little history. The Sanders Cafe and Museum in Corbin, KY was both of those! Located just minutes away from I-75, we couldn’t resist a road trip stop at at the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Take time to look outside
Before you walk, take a few minutes to check out all the things outside.
Order your food
Once you walk in, you’re greeted by the delicious fried chicken! Make sure to place your order for a bucket of fried chicken. Plenty of spots to sit at. Our favorite was at end with the museum gallery.
Learn about the history
While waiting for your food, scope out the exhibits and artifacts. Learn about the founder Harland Sanders. See if you can guess what the famous 11 spices are. Here you’ll find artifacts, peek at the original kitchen, a model of a room from the motel. So many cool things to look at!
Make sure to take a selfie with the Colonel!
