While we love the farms with all the activities, sometimes we want to really just want something simple. For our next pumpkin picking adventure, we headed to Enjoy Pioneer Farm in Hampshire. We visited awhile back so was curious to see what they offered during the fall.

Getting here

Located a few minutes off I-90, Enjoy Pioneer Farm is pretty easy to get to (although the GPS on my car directed us to the farm across the street – use Google Maps instead.) There is no designated parking lot; just park on the grass or gravel if available.

While they had plenty of pre-picked pumpkins, my kids wanted to get the full picking experience and choose one from the field. The owner handed us a cutter, then we grabbed a few wagons, and took a short walk to the field. We visited mid-season and still found plenty of pumpkins to pick from.

Tip: If you are budget-conscious, the pumpkins are weighed by the pound so go for the smaller ones!

Not only did they have pumpkins, they also had a variety of squash that we could pick. We can’t wait to try something with the butternut squash.

See the farm animals

It is a real farm so don’t be surprised to find chickens roaming around. We also saw pigs and sheep.

More than gourds

If you’re looking to buy more than pumpkins, you’re in luck. They have bays of hay, Indian corn, frozen meat, and more.

Not only can you see farm animals, but they also have a small kids area with a teepee tent and play houses. This area is much more suited to younger kids.
