If you’re going to visit Door County and need a place to stay, look no further than Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor. As the largest resort in Door County, Landmark Resort was everything we needed for our fall getaway – plenty of room, a kitchen, a living room, a pool, and even a place to hike. Located on over 40 wooded acres in Door County, we felt secluded away from anybody but were minutes away from everything.

Disclosure: A huge thank you to the The Landmark Resort, Destination Door County, and Travel Wisconsin for hosting our family. I was not required to express a particular point of view, and all opinions are my own.

Our Suite at Landmark Resort

We stayed in “Captain’s Quarters,” a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom enclosed suite with wooded views. Our suite was located in the Charter building which was conveniently attached to the main building and pool so we didn’t need to lug our jackets. They have a few other buildings – some which have beautiful bluff views. Our two bedrooms were so nice and cozy. We immediately felt “at home” here.

We loved hanging out in the living room with TV and cozy seating.  The couch was also a sleeper sofa which was another great option.

The most convenient part of having a suite was having a kitchen where we could store our leftovers or make a meal in a pinch. Since we visited during the off-season and during Covid, we found many of the restaurants closed. Stopping at Main Street Market was a must and having a kitchen was a lifesaver.

Take a walk (or hike)

One of my favorite things to do on vacation is to wake up early, then explore the area by running or walking before the entire family wakes up. I was excited to try out their hiking path, Patti’s Path, a .65 mile loop through the woods. It’s considered a strenuous trail because of the steep hill going down. After that it’s all relatively flat. I loved it so much that I wanted to share the path with the family. They absolutely LOVED it!

Tip: Here are the trail maps that came in handy finding Patti’s Path.

Splash around

The Landmark has a few outdoor pools as well as an indoor pool.  The kids loved splashing away here. My husband and I loved that we could sit in the hot tub and watch them from there. It was the perfect way to end our days exploring.

Amenities at Landmark Resort

Although we didn’t get a chance to try it, they have a playground, basketball court, shuffleboard, pickleball, volleyball, and tennis court. During the warmer months, they also have a few heated outdoor pools with great views of the bluff. The resort also has a fitness center, saunas, and a game room but unfortunately were closed at the time. So much to do! If you feel like hanging out outside your suite, each building has their own sitting area in the lobby. So cozy!
