We love playground hopping and recently discovered the new South Ridge Park in Hoffman Estates. Not only does this park offer fun playground equipment but there’s also an obstacle course, a walking path, and a splash pad. Although we visited on a day when it was drizzling, it didn’t damper on the kids fun. And hey, parents can get in on the action too! Plenty of fun for everyone!

Highlights of South Ridge Park:

Obstacle Course

As you know, obstacle courses are my kids jam. The main problem with some obstacle courses is that it’s too advanced for my six year old. Not a problem here. My little ninja warrior was able to do most of the obstacles. Psst. I love that the entire playground has an astroturf ground.

On your mark, get set….

Dash

Want to race? My daughter and I challenged each other to a quick race. Guess who won?

Super fun zip line

Kids love zip lines and this one is nice and long. Plus, the kids are able to get on it by themselves with the helpful platform.

Playground Equipment

There are two different playgrounds – one for the younger set and one for those a little bit older. Highlights include loved zipping down the two tube slides on the larger play structure. The other usual suspects were there including the climbers and monkey bars. Swing away on the two available swings or the fun net swing. They also have a seesaw and those spinning contraptions.

Take a walk around the lake

Although we didn’t get a chance, it would be nice to take a leisurely walk around the lake. Plus, it’s paved so kids can bring their scooters, bikes, or roller blades for more fun.

Splash Pad Area

All kids love splash pads, and this is sure to be a hit with the kids when it opens!
