Highlights of Lake Arlington:
One of the main highlights of Lake Arlington is the opportunity to use the paved path to walk, run, rollerblade, scooter, or bike. The loop around the Lake is quite picturesque so take time to enjoy your walk. I must admit though, after the kids saw the playground they had no patience to do a 2-mile walk so we did a portion of it that ended at the playground. Good enough!
Tip: There are certain rules to follow for path etiquette so make sure to pay attention to those.
The playground area is super fun. The one geared towards younger kids has a fun four-person seesaw that I’ve never seen before. Even adults can enjoy it too! The “older” playground has all the climbing nets that kids love nowadays. The other usual suspects were there including the slides, monkey bars, rock climbing wall. My kids were too enamored with climbing the big “boulders.” The grass-like ground is a nice addition to the playgrounds.
Lake Arlington offers a chance for kids to make their own music. How neat! On our visit someone was playing holiday tunes so we didn’t get a chance to try it ourselves.
Have a picnic
A large covered picnic pavilion is perfect for picnics. Bring your chess or checker pieces to play a game on their game tables.
They have a small sandy area which would be fun to take kids in the summer. It also looks like they have rentals available like paddleboats, kayaks, and sailboats. A great option to look into the warmer months.
Outdoor exercise area
We’ve seen a few parks now with these outdoor exercise areas. A great option if you can’t get to the gym!
Take advantage of the new fishing pier they added. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed here too.
Tips to enjoy Lake Arlington:
- Need some food options? We love our poke bowls and are fans of Poke Hale. Have you tried Filipino food before? Pinoy Grill is a must for their Filipino Street Food! Try their pork on a stick, pancit, or egg rolls. My husband loves their lechon kawali.
