Janesville Art: Murals
Downtown Janesville currently has 20 murals, but every year the number increases due to Art Infusion, a celebration of all things art and an event where muralists help add more to the city’s impressive art roster. On our visit we picked up one of the maps and just walked around downtown. Here are some of our favorite murals we found.
Since you’re visiting Janesville, a stop at the Janesville mural is a must!
Tip: Pick up a Janesville Public Art Trail brochure or download one here to help plan your adventure.
Janesville Art as a bridge
In Janesville, it’s not just murals but also sculptures! For instance, their pedestrian bridge connecting east and west downtown Janesville has the Resilience Sculpture.
After crossing the bridge, the kids immediately spied The Bubbler. The Bubbler is not only a sculpture, but also becomes a kid favorite during the warmer months as a splash pad.
Visiting Sandwich Bar was high on my list not only because of the food, but because of the Anthony Bourdain mural inside. FYI, the sandwiches are amazing!
Janesville Art: Roadside Attractions
If you’re a fan of roadside attractions, then you don’t want to miss seeing the 16-foot tall Bessie the Cow.
