Every year we look forward to the Bristol Renaissance Faire by Kenosha, Wisconsin. It has become one of our family’s favorite traditions. Not attending last year was a bummer, so when we heard it was open this year again we couldn’t wait! Read all about the highlights this year.

Disclosure: Our family was given complimentary tickets to the Bristol Renaissance Faire. I was not required to express a particular point of view and all opinions are my own.

Delicious Eats

Without a doubt, food is a must at the Faire and one of the main reasons we attend. Our must-eats are the giant turkey legs, artichokes, Spanish fries, stewed mushrooms, candied nuts, fried potatoes, sassafrass, and mead. Lots of lots of mead. This year, I tried an iced chai latte and the new boozy Dole Whip.

The Shows

One of the best things about The Bristol Renaissance Faire (right after the food) is all the FREE entertainment. Some of our favorites include Adam Crack’s electrifying fire whip show and the hilarious Mud Show. The aerial show is also mesmerizing. Our favorites this year include Barely Balanced Comedy & Danger and of course, The Joust. But we didn’t need to necessarily stop to see a scheduled show onstage; there was entertainment wherever we went whether it be a fiddle player or a man in stilts (also happened to be from the Barely Balanced show.)

Photo Ops at the Bristol Renaissance Faire

You all know I am a fan of angel wings and this year they’ve added a bunch of renaissance-themed angel wings. Pretty cool!

Shop ’til You Drop

They have all sorts of unique items to purchase from wooden cups, goblets, chain maile, kilts, jewelry, or even elven ears. This year my daughter was enamored with the fairy dust wands and sprinkled a little magic everywhere she walked.

Games, rides, and activities

Kids (and adults) will love the different games found throughout. To stay true to the era, the rides are all powered by muscle. My kids tried their shot at crossbows. Luckily, they hit the target and were then knighted for all to see. Pretty fun! There’s also the typical activities kids love – face painting and pony rides.

Take a break at Kids Kingdom

When the kids need a break Kids Kingdom is the place to go. This is where the kids can explore the pirate ships, slide, see a few shows, and even spy a dragon egg. The little hobbit homes are cute although they don’t open.

Say hello to the princess..and other creatures

How often do we get to see a princess? Or other creatures? We couldn’t resist saying hello, of course.
