Cabin Highlights at O’Connell’s Yogi Bear Park
Our home away from home for our weekend stay was Ranger Station B, a lakefront deluxe cabin with a covered porch. The cabin was cute and spacious for our family of five. Plus, it was pet-friendly, so we brought our puggy. And it had everything we needed – a kitchen with full size fridge and oven, a small dining table, a bathroom with showers, and a comfy living room sleeper sofa. The kids were pretty happy with their bunk bed and us adults liked having our own queen size bed. We especially liked having a few kitchen essentials – cutlery, knives, pots and pans, stove, and full size fridge.
PRO TIP: Make sure to bring your own linens: sheets, pillows, towels, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, etc.
One major plus was how awesome the location was! For instance, mornings were spent waking up to cotton candy skies.
My favorite part about the cabin, other than the location, was our covered porch. From enjoying my morning coffee in quiet to having meals with the family, the porch provided an oasis and a way to enjoy the outdoors.
Fire pit and grill
One of the best reasons to go camping IMO is getting to roast s’mores. And we were happy to have our own firepit and charcoal grill.
Things to Do at O’Connell’s Yogi Bear Park
One of the things we absolutely loved about our stay was that there were so many activities to do! An array of activity opportunities include three heated swimming pools, spas, kiddie pools, a beach for swimming, double-flume waterslide, paddle boat rentals, mini golf, four playgrounds, hiking trails, fishing, hayrides and a fully stocked indoor activity center with daily planned activities.
Play at the playgrounds
While we were exploring we found 4 different playgrounds!
Get on the water
One of our favorite activities was participating in a few water activities. O’Connell’s offers paddleboat and kayak rentals, plus it’s totally budget friendly – only $5 a half hour. The whole family had a blast on the kayaks.
Get artsy
My little artist wanted to get crafty, so we made it a point to go to the Arts and Craft Center. My daughter had fun painting on canvas and all the kids chose a t-shirt to tie-dye. I have to say it was the perfect souvenir!
Get on the golf cart and go on a joy ride
To enhance your visit, here’s my number one tip. Get a golf cart! We had a blast participating in a car parade, taking joy rides at night, and just driving around. The grounds are pretty large so there’s plenty to explore. Plus, it was super helpful to have a golf cart to help lug around our beach equipment. Even our puggie enjoyed it!
Put put around
My daughter loves mini golf and totally couldn’t wait to play! With 18 holes to play and a few challenging holes, the kids had a fun time!
Go fishing
My middle son has become quite an angler, and our cabin location by the lake could NOT be beat! My early riser woke up, dressed, and would start fishing. He was in heaven!
Go swimming
If you want to go swimming or relax by the beach, they offer a few choices for families. Choose from the beach or one of the pools and splash around. Looking for more of a thrilling adventure? Zip down their double flume waterslide! Our family always prefers the beach and this one was pretty fun with a floating obstacle course.
Get treats
Although we brought our own food, we still liked having an option for snacks. And I have to say they had a great frozen treat selection. We ended up with a ice cream cookie sandwich, funnel cakes, and milkshakes. Everything was pretty good!
FYI, small soft serve cones were only $1.
Final thoughts
We absolutely loved our camping adventure at O’Connell’s Yogi Bear Park. With plenty of activities to keep the family busy, you’ll never want to leave!
