If you’ve been following us, you know we’re always on the hunt for incredible playgrounds—and the Dream Playground in Kenosha has been on our radar for quite some time. We finally made the trip, and it did not disappoint! Located in Petzke Park, this is Kenosha’s first fully accessible playground, designed for children of all abilities. Spanning 15,000 square feet, the Dream Playground came to life in 2015 through the hard work and passion of more than 3,000 volunteers. Truly a community-built gem you won’t want to miss!

Getting started at Dream Playground

Located at Petzke Park, at the intersection of 31st Street and 14th Avenue in Kenosha, there is plenty of parking in the lot.

Looking for another great playground worth the road trip? We love Palmer Park in Janesville!

Two Play areas

There are two areas when you enter the playground. Veer right if you have littles – they’ll have a blast in the Tot Lot.

Make your way to the left to find an area for older kids.  Plus, there are tons of little nooks and crannies perfect for hide and seek.

Love playgrounds with a rubber surface. This is no exception!

Fenced in

The best part? The playground is fully fenced with one entrance, so it’s easy to keep an eye on the kids.

Rock Climbing Wall

You know I love murals and fell in love with this tropical-themed mural that was also a climbing wall. Love the combo!

Musical Instruments

The Dream Playground lets kids create their own music with musical instruments.

Mini Local Icons

Children can enjoy fun replicas of Kenosha’s landmarks, including lighthouses and ships, 1960s Rambler replica, trolley car, a mini Meijer and other storefronts, adding a touch of local culture and history to their play.

Swings

A variety of swings are available including a key-activated Liberty Swing for wheelchair users, high-back and round swings, two bird nest swings, and adaptive side-by-side swings.

Other things you’ll find at Dream Playground

  • Wheelchair Accessible Merry-Go-Round, Monkey Bars, and Climbing Walls
  • Non-Electrostatic Slides
  • Braille and sign language displays

Final thoughts of Dream Playground
