As a mom to three young kids, it seems like I’m also digging through my purse for coins whenever we pass by a fountain. Who can blame them? What kid (or adult) doesn’t want to wish their heart out? Well, thanks to BMO those wishes can come true (and you won’t even have to dig through your purse!)

To celebrate their 200th anniversary, BMO wants to give back to the community by granting wishes, both big and small, over the course of the year. This Thursday, April 13^th at The Shops at North Bridge, BMO will be unveiling a wishing fountain for you to do so. Not just any old wishing fountain, but a digital wishing fountain.  And while the bicentennial fountain has no water, it does have technology that simulates a ripple effect every time a wish is made. How cool, right?

We’ll be there for the ribbon cutting ceremony, but if aren’t able to make it making a wish is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Head to bmo200.com, choose a category, make your wish, then “toss” your coin.

I’m still thinking about what to wish for. Sure I’d like to wish for a washer/dryer (ours just broke, of course), a few bills that need to be paid, but I’d like to wish for something that will help someone. Follow me on social media to see what I will wish for.

Historic ties to Chicago

Did you know that BMO’s ties to Chicago go way back? After the Great Chicago Fire, The Bank of Montreal had donated $5,000 to help rebuild the city. They have also been a leading source of finance for Chicago’s export trade, and they were a founding contributor to the Chicago Community Trust in 1915. So it’s only fitting that their next installment of the BMO200 fountain resides here for a few months.

So go ahead and celebrate this amazing milestone by making a wish at The Shops at North Bridge where this awesome spectacle will be until June 23^rd. What will you wish for? Go ahead and wish it forward!
