Holiday Fun in Janesville

Holiday Light Show at Rotary Botanical Gardens

Visiting the Rotary Botanical Gardens tops the list of favorite things to do on any given day. But during the holidays, the garden is transformed into Holiday Light Show, a winter wonderland full of more than 1.5 million lights. Absolutely breathtaking!

Lincoln-Tallman House

Stroll through the historic home and admire the architecture while viewing more than 100 uniquely decorated trees at Lincoln-Tallman House. The decorated trees are so creative! This year’s Pink Christmas Tree room was our absolute favorite. Definitely recommend visiting especially if you love history and charming houses! One of their most famous guests was one other than President Lincoln himself.

Jolly Jingle Fun

This 3-day holiday festival features more than 30 events and activities so you’re bound to find something fun and festive to do. Take in the fireworks, watch the lighted parade, go on a Luminary Walk from shop to shop, ride on a trolley, and so much more! Best of all, most events are free!

It was hard to pick and choose but S’mores and hot cocoa are always high on the list. Afterwards, we could enjoy the beautifully lit bridges and fun selfie spots.

Go Ice Skating

If your kids love ice skating like mine, they’ll want to visit the Janesville Ice Arena. They had different Skate with Santa sessions as well as Open Skating with holiday music.  If you’d rather be a spectator, the Janesville Jets play here too.

Tip: The Ice Arena is literally a minute away from the Rotary Botanical Gardens so you can easily do both!

Where to Eat

So many spots to eat in Janesville especially in downtown Janesville.

808 Poke

Love poke bowls and was excited to find a place. We customized our own bowls and even tried their juices with boba.

So Chopped

Located at the Bodacious Shops, So Chopped was one of our favorite spots for a quick bite. Love their fresh salads and delicious sandwiches.

Bodacious Brew

Always on the hunt for new coffee shops, Bodacious Brew had everything we look for in a coffee shop. Variety of seasonal flavors, tea, and cozy seating.

Sandee’s Fusion

I’ve heard great things about Sandee’s Thai so we ordered takeout. Pad thai, green curry, spring rolls, duck and shrimp dishes were oh so good!

Wissota Chophouse

Since we were staying at Cobblestone, we noticed Wissota Chophouse at the hotel. My husband couldn’t resist the steak and mushroom risotto. The steak may have been a bit over seasoned but the risotto was one of the best we’ve had.
